- Find the theme that will allow gifts in a range of prices.
- Be Imaginative. Think of the bride and what it is she would enjoy.
Traditionally a kitchen tea was held for a new bride to provide her with the basics for the kitchen that she would require in her new home. Many women who have already moved out of their parents home will have collected the basics, therefore a theme make it easier to plan. Ask the bride and groom what they need before you begin any elaborate plans. You may find out that they are expecting tea towels and coffee mugs. Sometimes, simple is better. Book Shower
For the bookworm, books on cooking, humour, travel, romance....
Garden Shower
If your friend is an avid gardener or have just build a house on a bare block, then gifts relating to the garden are perfect. Items range from tools, wheel barrows lawnmowers and books to decorative accessories.
Glass & China Shower
Items made of glass or china are the focal point of the gifts. Glasses to vases to pitchers, anything works.
Gourmet Shower
For a more seasoned cook who has full kitchen but is looking for more unique items for cooking.
Pantry Party
A pantry party stocks the bride's pantry with canned or bottled gourmet food - imported wines and cheeses, gourmet coffees, spices, nuts and biscuits are typical selections.
Holiday Shower
Assign each guest a holiday. They then need to bring a gift that relates to that holiday. For example, for Valentines Day you might want to bring a wine bucket or two champagne glasses.

Each guest brings a gift that would be useful for use in the kitchen. Keep in mind what the couple might already have, and what level of cooks they are.
Recipe Shower
This can be done stand alone, or in conjunction with the kitchen or gourmet shower. Simply bring your favourite recipe for the couple to add to their recipe list. Very often, a recipe card will be included in the invitation.
Room of the House Shower
Assign each guest a room of the house. They will then bring a gift that is appropriate for that room.
Hobbies and Sport Shower
If the bride to be spends more time outdoors than in. Have a barbecue on a balmy summer night or a bonfire at the beach. A range of gifts ideas in this area will be popular - golf or camping equipment, drawing supplies, first aid kit......
Stock the bar Shower

If guests of honour
have the travel bug or have planned a honeymoon, try a travel themed party.
The party could feature food from the honeymoon destination: Greek, Italian,
Spanish, Carabin, or Thai. Guests can join in purchasing the couple
luggage or a camera. Compass, travel guides, maps, torch, backpacks
or a nights stay at a luxury hotel. If bridal couple have registered for honeymoon
travel, this gives guests an easy travel gift option.
